Feb. 1, 2010- Day 1 of Standard Process Purification! My husband and I are both doing the program So far so good! I feel full, which is good because I thought I would be starving. The shakes are better if you add pineapple and oranges. I will keep you all updated on our progress!
Feb.2, 2010~ Day 2 of Standard Process Purification. We are getting used to the shakes, they really aren't bad. However the supplements do not taste very good as you are trying to swallow them. Someone suggested putting them in our shakes, we will have to try that. Today we had a salad for lunch and half of a sweet potato. I ...made dressing for the salads, raspberry vingarette, it is pretty good I will post a recipe!
~More on Day 2- The only things we are noticing so far are frequent urination, slight diziness and sluggishness. Its nothing unbearable! My husband does say I'm a little grumpy, lol! Hey, you would be too if you wanted a cookie and all you could eat was a carrot. The book says we will feel that way for a couple of days! Oh the joys of dextoxing!

Feb. 3, 2010 ~ Day 3 Nothing noticable today. I found out that I can eat hummus! Which makes me happy. I have to make it or buy it from whole foods, but still very exciting. It give my veggies a little flavor! We made portabella mushrooms last night marinated in balsamic and olive oil. It was awesome, almost felt like we were eating steak. Almost!
Feb. 4, 2010 ~ Day 4
All is well today! I am getting a little sick of salad, but hey only a 3 more days until I can add chicken and fish to our diet! I'm still getting some dizzy spells, but I realize its because I need to add some more protein to my shakes. Dr. Darr said to add some whey protein i...n, which standard process carries. I'm going to order some and try it.
More on Day 4- We also started doing having a hard boiled egg a day, for added protein. It seems to be helping! My husband did have a little withdraw from caffine but he seems to be doing better now. No more headaches!
Feb. 5, 2010 ~ Day 5
Good news to report my husband has already lost 11 pounds! He is pretty happy about that. We read some blogs last night of others that have done the detox, it was pretty neat. Many people lost a lot of weight doing this! The before and after pictures are incredible!
Feb. 6, 7, & 8 2010 ~ Day 6, 7, & 8
Wow, being snowed in sure was tough! All I wanted to do was bake goodies and eat all of them. We did good though! It was very difficult not to eat all of the food at the superbowl party we went to! We packed our food with us and ate chicken and veggie stirfry.
Overall we are feeling pretty good! Today we start our second phase of supplements. We no longer take the cleansing supplement, but rather we switch to the greenfood supplement. I am hoping to see increased energy from the switch. My husband is down a total of 12 pounds now. He is very excited about that!

Feb. 9 & 10, 2010 ~ Day 9 &10
So I have a confession to make! We cheated on our diet yesterday. We gave into our cravings for chicken wings. The funny part is that it didn't taste as good as I thought it would. We were pretty disappointed in ourselves, but we learned that junk food just doesn't taste the same anymore. Perhaps the detox diet is working, it is changing our eating habits! The healthy meal that we ate later that day tasted even better than the junk we had earlier. I have learned a lesson, we are sticking to the routine!
I am feeling increased energy this week! Which makes me very happy. I am no longer having sugar cravings, in fact even my fruit smoothies taste too sweet! I hope that this will continue once i'm done taking all of my supplements in the detox program!

Feb. 11 & 12, 2010 ~ Day 11 & 12
Well, Its official my husband has lost 15 pounds now! He so very excited about the result so far. The area that he has been trying to lose for 6 years is shrinking daily. Not to mention that he is feeling pretty good! It’s amazing how eating this way can change so many things. I do have to say it’s b...een a nice journey for us to do together. It gives us something to encourage one another to do!
I hope all that are doing the detox are experiencing the same wonderful results! I will keep you posted on any more changes! Also, Amanda our massage therapist at the office started the program yesterday! I will try to update everyone on her progress as well! Have a great weekend!
